Master’s students of The Innovation Lab (Università del Piemonte Orientale) Valentina Radini and Myriam Antonaci recently participated in the XIV IRCAD Day, a conference dedicated to autoimmune diseases. Their research, presented as a poster, explored the complementary anticancer potential of pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) stimulation in a 3D in-vitro model of osteosarcoma.

The study investigates PEMF’s ability to enhance the sensitivity of osteosarcoma cells to chemotherapy, using innovative spheroid-based co-culture techniques. While initial findings suggest areas for optimization, the work opens promising avenues for future research in improving osteosarcoma treatment.

This opportunity underscores the lab’s commitment to fostering innovation and advancing solutions to pressing medical challenges.
