The INNOVATION Lab is back from the ExcellMater Conference 2024 in Belgrade, Serbia! Only three days – but we were fully fuelled by meeting old friends and finding new ideas. The members of the INNOVATION Lab participated in the conference in many ways. First, our postdoctoral researcher Alessandro Scalia delivered a rapid-fire presentation “Sr/Mg – doped bioceramic scaffolds for biomedical application” in a session on Bioreactors and biomaterials for recreation of microenvironments in skeletal tissues chaired by Professor Andrea Cochis. Then, Professor Lia Rimondini introduced the PREMUROSA project and summarised its deliverables throughout more than 3 years of functioning. Finally, our master’s student Rana Zarean Hafdaran participated in a poster session with a study “Unraveling the transcriptome profile of pulsed electromagnetic field stimulation in bone regeneration using an in vitro investigation platform” which she did under the supervision of our doctoral student Farah Daou – and won the prize for the best poster! We are grateful to the ExcellMater project members for organising such a beautiful conference.
